Lead the company's reservoir engineering and production technology functions, with responsibility for sustainable reservoir development, production optimisation, and reserves management across the asset portfolio. The role ensures operations are conducted safely and works across technical and commercial stakeholders, internal and external, to deliver corporate goals within time, cost, and resource targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the reservoir development and operating philosophy, including field development planning and new field drilling optimisation.
- Provide petroleum engineering support across drilling, completions, and workovers from design through execution.
- Deliver reservoir management and surveillance for all producing assets, working with geoscientists and production engineers on production potential.
- Build reservoir models and run simulation studies to evaluate development scenarios, optimise well design, and generate reserve profiles.
- Prepare reserve estimates and economic evaluations for drilling, recompletion, acquisition, and divestiture opportunities, including analysis of logs, pressures, and reservoir fluids.
- Lead reserves certification exercises and supervise third-party reserve studies.
- Lead the Production Technology function, including wellbore integrity management, surveillance, well testing, workovers, and stimulation programmes, with oversight of production performance monitoring and reporting.
- Drive well production optimisation studies, candidate selection, and deliverability/economic modelling; support drilling plans and execution.
- Review reservoir studies and field development plans for technical quality and compliance with company standards.
- Train and mentor team members; comply with HSE policies, legislation, and sustainability guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years' experience in reservoir engineering, production engineering, well intervention, and field development.
- Proven expertise optimising well production in large oil and gas fields, including reservoir management and surveillance for green and brown fields.
- Experience with well testing and production data allocation, ideally in mature fields with incomplete or variable data sources.
- Strong working knowledge of petroleum economics and hydrocarbon accounting, including reserves-linked economic evaluation of drilling, acquisition, and divestiture opportunities.
- Comfortable working with production and reservoir databases, with a data-driven approach to performance monitoring and decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving, technical reasoning, and decision-making skills, with broad awareness of business drivers across exploration, appraisal, and development/production.
- Functional knowledge of reservoir engineering software , modelling tools, PVT software, and production management tools, with the ability to coach others.
- Strong project management, team leadership, and communication/presentation skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's degree an added advantage.
